VICTORY!

VICTORY!
Celebrations in Cornwood following news of Darwall's defeat - credit Emma Stoner

Victory! A moment worthy of celebration in Cornwood, on Darwall's doorstep as we mark the lasting security of the right to sleep under Dartmoor's stars, for everyone, forever. Our deepest gratitude to the thousands who have campaigned on this with us for three years.

The Supreme Court judgement is an asserting of common sense on behalf of all those who love Dartmoor. But, moreso, it's a clarion call for greater access to the countryside. Dartmoor has been seen throughout this campaign as a quirk - the last vestige of wild camping in England; but now it's the place from which a movement has grown - a desire to see more equitable and just access to nature for people across England and Wales.

This is a catalyst moment. We have regained something precious once lost. That's why, this Monday 26th May, we will be rallying at Haytor Rocks to celebrate this historic moment, and to call on the government to pass a Right to Roam act so that many more people can enjoy what we have regained here on Dartmoor.
