Time for a Right to Roam

Time for a Right to Roam

Now that rights of wild camping are restored on Dartmoor, it's time to turn our collective attention to wider access to the countryside.

Writing for The Lead, Jon Moses says:

"The Dartmoor victory and the mobilisation of the Labour party to the cause are but a start. What we need is laws that  take trust as their foundation, societies that  believe in their own capacity for transformation, and the resources to see it through.

A society which thinks it’s right to make someone feel wrong for sleeping under the stars should search the night sky for its soul."

A huge momentum has gathered behind the campaign for a national right to roam. We've already seen victory for rights on Dartmoor, now let's translate that victory into a transformation of access rights in the English countryside.
