Dartmoor Calling!

Dartmoor Calling!

Four screening dates have now been announced, as part of the Dartmoor Calling film tour in early 2025. Clapham Film Unit and the Dartmoor Preservation Association are delighted to present Dartmoor Calling, a documentary film which showcases the stories of people fighting to save Dartmoor, with interviews filmed in the places where they took a stand.

Throughout the last year, Director Charlotte Bill, and her team of volunteers, have been meeting with campaigners, conservationists, farmers, re-wilders, museum curators and activists, learning about their relationships with Dartmoor.

Charlotte has worked in collaboration with the DPA, as well The Stars Are For EveryoneRight to Roam and The Lost Giants and people from these organizations have shared their visions for Dartmoor and insights into just how important it is to them. As well as telling the stories of current activists, the documentary also remembers the campaigning of Sylvia Sayer, ‘shield of the moor’ and reflects on how one determined individual can change the course of history.
